Everything about Deeside totally explainedFor Royal Deeside see River Dee, Aberdeenshire
Deeside ( Welsh: Glannau Dyfrdwy) is the name given to the predominantly industrial conurbation of towns that are on, or near the river Dee in Flintshire north Wales. These include, Connah's Quay (including the villages of Kelsterton and Rockcliffe), Mancot, Shotton and Queensferry, Sealand, Hawarden, Ewloe, Sandycroft and the Welsh side of Saltney. The population is around 32,000, with the majority (16,526) living in Connah's Quay. A looser definition of the area would be the area the 01244 dialling code covers, which includes parts of Buckley and also the City of Chester. Deeside is often considered a suburb of Chester.
This district gives its name to the UK Parliament and Welsh Assembly constituency of Alyn and Deeside.
